Founded in 1983, as the successor to important plastic companies that had operated in Argentina since 1955, Plastar Group is currently one of the main forces driving the region's plastic industry.

Specialized in the production of polyethylene films, Plastar Group comprises three industrial facilities in Argentina and one in Mexico: Plastar Buenos Aires and Plastar San Juan, which operate using CAST production process; Plastar San Luis, which implements BLOWN production process; and Starplast in Mexico, which operates CAST production process. The Group's overall production capacity exceeds 60,000 tons per year. Plastar Group has become Latin America leading manufacturer of micro-embossed polyethylene films for disposable diapers and one of the main producers of polyethylene films for agricultural and industrial uses, and for general packaging.
